By Peggy Still-

Awakened by the warmth of the mid-summer night a bright glow fills my bedroom. Peeking out the window I see it, a full moon so bright it lights up the entire backyard, and seemingly so large I can imagine walking to the top of the hill to touch it. In the silence of the night I stand in awe at God’s magnificent creation.

The One who’s hands carefully formed each planet, the arm that with one sweep across the universe placed the stars, and with one twist of His finger caused the world to spin at just the right speed; those very hands reach all the way down from the Heavens to comfort and hold you and me. Those same arms gather His wayward sheep and carry them to safety. How can a God so powerful, so creative care for me?

My Father is omnipotent,
And that you can’t deny;
A God of might and miracles,
‘Tis written in the sky.

It took a miracle to put the stars in place,
It took a miracle to hang the world in space;
But when He saved my soul,
Cleansed and made me whole,
It took a miracle of love and grace.

Staring at the scene before me, I try to fully see the majesty of the Father that precedes time and creation. Grace and truth is mine through God’s incredible act of love in the sacrifice of Christ. If He created the universe, imagine what He can accomplish in my little world. On this warm mid-summer night peeking out the window, I stand amazed in the presence of the omnipotent Creator of the universe who loves me.
