No matter what I’m doing or where I am, the minute I hear the lyrics of any song from Carol King’s epic album, Tapestry, I am 17 years old again, summer eve cruising in my friend’s red Ford Ranchero. Instantly transported; a musical equivalent of “Beam me up Scotty.” James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, The Eagles – they all find that teen girl who apparently still survives somewhere deep inside.
What about you? Who kidnaps your memory and takes you back?
Warm summer nights on Zuma beach in Southern California with my high school friends roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, singing Beach Boys songs. Great memories. Peggy
